A Guide for Better Work published in English

The Centre for Occupational Safety’s publication A Guide for Better Work is now available in English. The publication originates from the Hyvää huomista (Responsibility of Good Tomorrow) collaboration, a joint program of the chemical sector labour market organisations. The translation was funded by the European Chemical Employers Group (ECEG).

The Finnish chemical sector labour market organisations have agreed to jointly promote well-being and productivity in chemical companies. As part of this program, the parties prepare guides and tools for developing leadership, work community skills and other factors affecting well-being at work.  Many of the guides produced in this collaboration are made available to all industrial sectors by the Centre for Occupational Safety.

One of the tools is Paremman työn opas, a guide for better work, published in 2017. The booklet explains, with examples and exercises, some good ways to improve the active job satisfaction and intrinsic motivation of employees.

When presented in the European chemical sector social committee last spring the guide attracted a lot of interest among European organisations. To make the guide available for a wider audience, the European Chemical Employers Group (ECEG) offered funding for translating it from Finnish into English.

The Guide for Better Work in English is now published and made freely available through the Centre of Occupational Safety.
