Chemical Industry Federation of Finland Joins the European Employers’ Institute

The Chemical Industry Federation of Finland has joined the European Employers’ Institute (EEI) as a member. EEI is a European employer-side research institute founded in 2024. Its aim is to produce fact-based and analytical information to support decision-making at the EU level. The Institute’s first studies have focused, among other things, on comparisons of productivity between the EU and the United States, as well as subcontracting.
The research produced by EEI focuses in particular on issues related to labour markets, competitiveness and regulation, which have a significant impact on European business and companies’ ability to succeed. The objective is to strengthen the knowledge base for decision-making and to bring the employer perspective into EU-level discussions.
According to Minna Etu-Seppälä, Executive Director of Industrial Relations at the Chemical Industry Federation of Finland, membership provides a useful and effective channel for bringing forward the views of the business community.
– EU-level regulation has a direct impact on the operating conditions of Finnish companies. It is important that decision-making is underpinned by diverse, research-based analysis, also from the employer perspective. The European Employers’ Institute provides an excellent forum for this
The Chemical Industry Federation of Finland’s participation in EEI’s activities strengthens the voice of Finnish employers in EU-level discussions and supports advocacy work with an increasingly strong evidence base. The European Employers’ Institute currently has 19 members, 10 of which are national employer organisations. From Finland, in addition to the Chemical Industry Federation of Finland, the Technology Industries of Finland has previously joined the Institute and is one of its founding members. The Institute also includes as a member the European Chemical Employers’ Group (ECEG), the European employer organisation for the chemical industry.
