Clean water
Clean water is the prerequisite of life and necessary for agriculture and industry. Yet less than one per cent of all water resources are available to the world’s growing population. Water is often particularly scarce in areas with a large population.
Through chemistry, we can remove pathogens and impurities from water and turn sea water into drinking water. We also need chemical industry for the recycling of wastewater and industrial process water.
